Goals
The countries of the European Union are moving ever closer together, this development being particularly visible in the field of transnational studies. Thus, our foundation wishes to focus on supporting students from the Republic of Estonia in economic, technical and cultural studies.
How does this happen?
By awarding scholarships to Estonian students in the economic, technical and cultural fields to study in the Federal Republic of Germany;
By awarding scholarships to German students in these fields to study in the Republic of Estonia;
Through other knowledge promotion activities integrated into the study programme, e.g. work placements.
Up to now, this has mainly been done through the use of work placements for Estonian students within German companies.
The foundation wishes to supplement its activities by awarding scholarships, the students being recommended by their professors in the first instance.
Initially, we shall focus upon students from the universities of Tartu and Tallinn. It is envisioned that professors from these two universities would establish the initial contact. Indeed, , we already have long-standing personal contacts at the University of Tartu.
In addition to the recommendation of the professors within these universities, a key prerequisite for the awarding of individual scholarships is a good knowledge of German, this being demonstrated either by interview or through the achievement of a recognised German language qualification such as C1 from the Goethe Institute.
